Reading Glasses DON'T Have to Be Inevitable
Alternatives to Reading Glasses
Many people over age 40 need to wear reading glasses to see up close. This is due to the naturally-occurring vision condition of presbyopia where the eye lens becomes less flexible over time, making it increasingly difficult to read without glasses.
Atwal Eye Care now offers a treatment to help people struggling with reading glasses
The KAMRA Inlay works by placing a very thin lens within the first few layers of the eye known as the cornea. Smaller and thinner than a contact lens, the KAMRA Inlay has a mini ring that has an opening, or pinhole, in the center. This allows your eye to focus on near objects without reshaping your cornea, or affecting your distance vision.
KAMRA Inlay Procedure
The KAMRA Inlay procedure takes approximately 20 minutes:
- Your non-dominant eye is numbed
- A femtosecond laser is used to create a corneal flap
- The inlay is gently placed into the cornea
- The corneal flap is replaced and heals naturally
Candidates for KAMRA Inlay
- Candidates are typically age 40-55
- No existing eye conditions
- Rely on reading glasses to focus on up close objects
