30 Years of Caring for Patients: Heidi Falzone Recognized with “Above and Beyond” Vision Care
For Heidi Falzone, a career in eye care has always been about much more than a job. It’s about the patients, the people she works alongside and a workplace that has quite literally become family.
After 30 years in vision care, Heidi is being recognized with the “Above and Beyond” in Vision Care Award, celebrating three decades of dedication to patients and the many roles she has taken on throughout her career.
Heidi’s journey began working with Dr. Sirkin before joining Atwal Eye Care. Over the years, she has experienced nearly every side of a patient’s journey, moving from technician to reception, billing and eventually into the Dry Eye and LASIK department on Harlem Rd in Cheektowaga.
Today, Heidi works in reception supporting Dry Eye and LASIK patients, but her responsibilities extend far beyond the front desk. From answering patient calls and assisting with billing questions to making sure patients have the best possible experience, Heidi has built her career around the goal of making patients happy and comfortable.
For Heidi, Atwal Eye Care really is a family affair.
Her daughter has worked at Atwal Eye Care for more than five years and currently serves as a technician. Heidi’s husband also works with the practice, and the two actually met through Atwal Eye Care!
“When our schedules work out, my daughter and I even drive to work together,” Heidi shares. “It works out so well.”
After three decades in the field, Heidi says being recognized is especially meaningful.
“It’s exciting to be recognized. It’s nice that people notice my hard work, and I feel seen,” she exclaims.
