Dr. Ephraim Atwal Performs Free Cataract Procedures through Eyes on America
On October 15, 2021, Dr. Ephraim Atwal served our community by providing free cataract surgery procedures for uninsured and low-income individuals. Dr. Atwal is proud to be part of a charitable foundation called Eyes on America, a not-for-profit organization that sponsors Mission Cataract Day each year to give back to people in Western New York. Dr. Atwal performed the free cataract surgeries at the Atwal Eye Care surgery center: the Buffalo Ambulatory Surgery Center. Over the years, he has performed over 500 free cataract surgeries through this foundation.
Eyes on America was started by Dr. Kenneth Anthone in 2009. Before he retired, Dr. Anthone worked with Doctors Ephraim and Amar Atwal at Atwal Eye Care. In 2014, Doctors Ephraim and Amar Atwal joined the foundation and began helping people restore clear vision to their lives through free cataract surgeries. Dr. Anthone’s wife, Karen, currently serves as the Foundation Director.
