Local U.S. Navy Officer Wins free LASIK from Atwal Eye Care

Atwal Eye Care teamed up with The Buffalo Bills to create the Vision for Veterans giveaway! One deserving serviceperson received free LASIK … and for him, things may never be the same. Individuals were asked to submit stories about why they (or someone they loved) deserved to win free LASIK. Over 70 entries were received and the winner was randomly selected: Zachary
McClellan, U.S. Navy, Petty Officer First Class.

Zach’s wife, Heather, submitted the entry on his behalf. You can read the winning entry below:

“[Zach] is one of the most selfless people I know. Ever since he was a kid, he has always stood up for those who needed it, gone out of his way to help others, and has always spoken up for those who can’t. He is a lifelong [Buffalo] Bills fan, and stayed up past 3am on deployments just to see his Bills play. He joined the Navy straight out of high school and has been serving for 8 years, has done 3 deployments overseas, and is about to reenlist for another 4 years with 3 more deployments expected in those 4 years. It would mean the world to him to finally ditch the glasses and contacts after 20 years in them, and to do it partnered with the Bills would be incredible.”

Zach had LASIK surgery by Dr. Ephraim Atwal on Thursday, October 7th, 2021. He can now see with 20/20 vision and no longer needs glasses or contacts to see clearly. Quote from Zach?

I am doing absolutely amazing! I’m still I’m awe everyday when I wake up or when I remember that I don’t have contacts in!

Recovery wise I think everything has gone great! I haven’t had any issues, I’ve been making sure to keep up with my drops, and my vision has gotten significantly clearer over the last week or so, colors appear more vibrant, I find myself counting the birds in the sky, or reading license plates or bill boards farther out while driving, just because I can! I told my Wife it’s like HD for my eyes.

I can not thank you all enough for what you’ve given me. I can’t wait to see y’all in a couple weeks!!
